Judge, ladies and gentlemen, Creon is guilty of the death of his family members along with the death of Antigone. “I killed you, my son, without intending to, and you, as well, my wife" (Johnston, lines 1340-1341). This , here expains why Creon is guilty. He has mentioned that it was him who killed his family members. Creon was filled with too much pride that his family members died. His pride was one of his emotions that caused many others to suicide. With Antigone he has sentenced her to the death sentence.” Don’t speak of her being here. Her life is over” (line 649). This , here explains his choice to have Antigone die. He didn't care about Antigone anymore with his saying. He said this to Ismene and you can ask my witness Ismene about it if you want. She alone is the lone survivor who is a witness. Another proff is when the chorus asks "How do you plan to kill Antigone"(line 883). The Chorus is someone who has took part with the killing of Antigone. He may have not killed her but he too has been agreeing with the king on and on about things. Back to Creon, another proof is when Creon said "I won't encourage you or cheer you up, by saying the sentence won't be carried out" (line 1048-1049). Creon is making his self be known that he will carry out the death sentence that he has put on Antigone. So Creon is guilty of the death of his family member and Antigone. He has done a crime of the death of these people mentioned that he should be jugded upon by you, the judge so this ends my case of Creon being guilty.

LRJ#2
There are many strong imagery in Antigone. A strong imagery is where Polyneices is being buried. It is repeated throughtout the play. "The dead man- Polyneices- out there- someone- New dust on the slimy flesh!"(Sophocles, lines 100-108). In this example Polyneices was talked about when he wasnn't supposed to have been buried. This quote reveals clearly that Polyneices was found buried by the messanger presenting this information to the king.
A fatal flaw is when Creon had too much pride so his family members died because of his pride. He took it to his brain too much by his pride that he doesn't consider other people'e opinion. "You forget yourself! You are speaking to your king"(line 63). He said this out of pride to Teiresias not caring about Teiresias's prophet.
"It is right that I should be. I alone am guilty. I know it, and I say it. Lead me in, Quickly friends. I have neither life nor substance. Lead me in"(lines 121- 124). This is anagnorisis. This, Creon admits that he alone is wrong and he will go and let Antigone out of the death sentence. When he gets there he finds Antigone dead and his son tried to attack him. Then Haimon, Creon's son, killed himself leaving the king miserable.
Peripeteia takes place when Haimon, Antigone, and the Queen dies. "They're dead- and those alive bear the responsibilty for those who've died"(Johnston, line 172) This is one place where Creon's life has been turned around. "Take this foolish man away from here"(Johnston, line 145). This is peripeteia because Creon's life has been turned upsidedown due to the death of his family mebers. He knew that he was the cause of the deaths that he called himself a foolish man.
Catharsis happens near the end. Pity is lost from the reader when Creon has no more family mebers left and he has given up on life. "Servants- hurry and lead me off, get away from here, for now what I am in life is nothing"(Johnston, lines 143- 149). Creon accepts his loss but he doesn't want to be part of life any longer.
In Antigone women are considered to be very brave and loyal to their family members. Antigone is considered strong when she stands up for herself when she knows she had done something against the law. "I admit I did it. I won't deny that"(Johnston, line 500). "But if I’d allowed my own mother’s dead son to just lie there, an unburied corpse, then I’d feel distress" (Johnston, line 157-159) This is when Antigone is considered loyal since she is burying her brother no matter what will stand in her way.

The Burial of Polyneices! Extra! Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

by: Anonymous
Polyneices, the brother of Antigone was killed today along with Eteocles. He and his brother killed each other trying to become the king. Creon took control and orders were given to not bury anyone who goes against Thebes. Anyone doing so will be killed. The orders were given only because Polyneices fought against Thebes. Eteocles was honored since he didn't go against Thebes but Polyneices isn't. Someone caught Antigone burying her brother Polyneices and took her to the king. Antigone along with her sister Ismene were sentenced to death. Later on Ismene was allowed to live but Antigone was locked away. The king's son found the king and had a quarrel with him. When the son left, the king got the news of his fate by the blind prophet. Upon learning his prophet the king went to release Antigone. Getting to where he had locked Antigone up he found Antigone dead. His son tried to kill him (the king) but dodging the son failed. The son mad killed himself. King Creon returning home also found his wife dead and so he wanted to kill himself. He had himself killed.......WE NEED A NEW KING SO WHO WILL BE THE NEXT KING! An event is going to be held for those who want to become the next king.
